3D, 4D ULTRASOUNDS

3D, 4D ULTRASOUNDS

For parents expecting a baby, one of the most exciting moments during pregnancy is that first prenatal ultrasound. Hearing and seeing their baby’s heartbeat for the first time can be a life-changing experience. The ultrasound gives us a peek inside a world that we are excluded from, especially now that we are able to view the growing baby in 3D. Ultrasound works by listening to the sound waves that are directed down and passed straight back up again. In 3D ultrasound those waves are used by directing them down at various angles, enabling the receiving equipment to see the image as 3-dimensional. With 4D technology, the still images produced with 3D ultrasound are played one right after another, creating a moving picture in real time. 2D looks only at surface structure- you are constantly chasing the baby to take pictures. 3D provides the ability to look at three 90 degrees planer at the same time. 4D ultrasound comprises of a series of 3D images. In other words The 4D ultrasound provides real-time foetal expressions (yawning, swallowing, sucking, grimacing, smiling, blinking) and various foetal movements (stretching, bending of head, isolated movements of arms and legs etc. It therefore allows us to study foetal neurology. During a prenatal ultrasound parents want to see as clear a picture as possible. Advancement to 3D and 4D ultrasound have allowed patents to observe more details of baby developing inside the womb.  4D technology allows us to find anatomical information that could not be seen before. This technology provides us with the ability to confidently explore foetal images in the early stages of pregnancy. As a result of this we are able to focus on early prevention rather than late diagnosis. One of the primary benefits of a 3D or 4D ultrasound is the immediate bonding on the parents. No longer is your baby an abstract idea or a flat image on a monitor. Now you can see your baby’s face, watch the baby move around, see the baby suck it’s thumb. Mothers with a strong bind with their unborn babies tend to take better care of themselves, practice better nutrition and exercise habits, or reduce stress. Dr. SUNEET JOLLY is highly experienced and is reputed to practice his craft skillfully and safely. Dr. JOLLY makes sure this is a beautiful experience for you and your partner and treats you with the respect you deserve. 3D and 4D ultrasounds are better able to detect abnormalities among developing foetus than 2D ultrasound. And these are more advanced ultrasound technologies often used to image mothers with high risk pregnancies. 4D ultrasound can help detect behavioral concerns, which could help diagnose brain and nervous system problems.
